Happy Thursday, all! Today is blog day, and so it's an opportunity for me to share a really great series of children's books with you, all of them written by Rose - of course! This series was the very first she ever created when she began writing books about teeth for children. In this fully-rhyming series she has chosen four different animals with entirely different teeth than humans'. This, she felt, was a great way to incorporate her love for nature into her writing, and it also helps children to learn more about the animals chosen. Let's take a closer look at them:
What an awesome series, and the artwork is outstanding, too! The information can even be used for school projects like 'show and tell', and it certainly brings across the idea that humans and animals are different in many ways. However, the one thing that humans should never forget is that this planet is their home, too - Earth was not made just for people!
If you've read any of these books above, please drop us a line and tell us your thoughts. Rose and I both love hearing your opinions. You can message us on Facebook or Twitter. You can also speak to Rose through her contact form, or to me via my page here on Rose's site. Until next time, keep smiling, stay magical, Sasha ~

Good day, all! It's Thursday, and that means it's blog day! As you know, Rose is still visiting with family in Kenya. Kenya, her place of birth, was the inspiration behind her series of books called 'Life with Imani in Kenya'. This series is all about a young girl named Imani and her life there. The idea for today's blog came from the third book in the series - 'You Are My Little Sunshine.' In this book Imani remembers her grandmother, Grandma Dee, watching over and caring for her until her last days. Memories of their fun times together come through in her words, and she smiles when she recalls the affectionate name - My Little Sunshine - that Grandma Dee gave to her. Most of the story revolves around a red Kanga (among others) - a large cloth that can be used in various ways. Imani speaks of each of the Kangas given to her by her grandmother, and in one scene she explains how she and her friends would spend time blowing bubbles in the meadows, using her Kanga as a blanket to sit on. And so, this scene is what inspired today's blog! So, here you go - how to make your very own blowing bubbles! What you'll need: - half a cup of concentrated dish-washing soap. - half a cup of sugar. - four cups of warm water. - one tablespoon of baking powder. - one large container i.e. a 5-liter tub. - one egg whisk. What to do: - pour the water, baking powder, and sugar into your plastic container. - use your whisk to stir the sugar and baking powder into the warm water until the sugar has dissolved. - once the sugar has completely dissolved, add the dish-washing soap and whisk until all of your ingredients are well-combined. - put your mixture aside for a few hours, so that the ingredients can fuse together to create the consistency needed to blow bubbles. - you can make your own blowing ring by using a piece of wire or any other rounded material that forms a hoop. - get out into the sunshine and have some fun! In fact, some people in the colder parts of the world blow bubbles in winter in the snow, and they get some amazing results as tiny crystals form within the bubbles. That's pretty easy, don't you think? As a note, if you have the time it makes sense to prepare your bubble mixture either the night before you want to use it, or in the morning if you want to play with them in the afternoon. The time you give for the mixture to fully combine is important, so don't forget to give it this time. Well, we hope you've enjoyed our blog today! Certainly this is something fun to do over the weekend in the sunshine, or even in the snow (not that it's snowing anywhere right now; not that I've heard of anyway)! When you make your bubble mix, please take some pictures and share them with us on Rose's Facebook or Twitter pages - we'd love to see your creations! Wishing you a super weekend ahead! Until next time, keep smiling, stay magical! Sasha ~ You Are My Little SunshineHappy Thursday, all! Today is blog day, and so we’ve decided to share something special with you. If you’ve not met me before, I am Rose’s Little Helper AKA Sasha the Tooth-fairy! Although I love my job, and I get to see children from around the world and leave them gifts, by far my greatest enemies are the Sugar Bugs. Boy, oh, boy - do they create trouble when they move into a child’s mouth! Perhaps you have already read Rose’s book ‘No Place For Sugar Bugs’. It’s about a young girl named Bella who discovers the little nasties having a party inside her mouth! Eeewww – but she knows exactly what to do with them! Sugar Bugs is the name given to the bacteria that live inside our mouths. They feed off the left-over foods and sugars in our mouths after every meal or snack. Fortunately they’re easy to get rid of, but – unfortunately – many kids either forget or feel too lazy to do what needs to be done to wash them away. Without brushing and flossing, these Sugar Bugs take over and cause tooth-decay and cavities that will need medical attention sooner than kids would want. And so, this is why Rose created the book ‘No Place For Sugar Bugs’, as a way to remind kids of the importance of keeping their teeth clean. The feature in this story, besides the great facts, is ‘The Sugar Bugs Song’ which Bella sings to herself as she brushes and flosses her teeth. Yes, of course it sounds funny when she sings with a toothbrush or floss in her mouth! Hah! And you can actually hear this in Rose’s interactive eBook – an audio version of ‘No place For Sugar Bugs’.
Well, we hope your child will enjoy the Sugar Bugs song. Be careful, though, it’s really catchy! And, no, there’s no age limit on who can sing it, so go-ahead and sing it yourself if you feel merry enough - which I hope you do! Here’s wishing you a great weekend ahead!
