About meI remember waking up to the African sunrises, seeing the colors of dawn unfold from purples and blues to warm reds, gold, and shades of orange. The silence before sunrise is a very special time. It allows you to connect with yourself and that which surrounds you, before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. It makes you realize your significance and that this existence is a gift, an awesome one.
I was born in a small town in Kenya, Africa. My grandmother was a great storyteller. I pondered over the stories she told me and, as I grew older, their significance in my life became more apparent. After college I moved to the United States where I went on to pursue my career ambitions in healthcare. I received my doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, where my primary interest was children's dental care and reducing oral diseases in children. |
My booksMy dental-related educational stories offer humorous, insightful, thought-provoking, and sometimes peculiar stories that promise to keep kids inspired about their dental health. Ranging from animal heroes to the Tooth Fairy, teasing among youngsters to the dreaded Sugar Bugs, the wonderfully illustrated storybook rhymes present entirely new perspectives on teeth and issues centered on dental care for kids.
My nature-inspired reading books for children follow suit, and aim to leave kids excited at the marvels of nature and, what I call, the simple things. |
