Happy Thursday, all! It’s blog day today, and we’ve decided to give you a helping hand when it comes to ideas on ways to reduce your carbon footprint. As a fairy, I tend to worry about what will happen to my beautiful planet in the future. Nearly all of Rose’s books focus on nature to help tell the story. Without nature what would humanity be? I don’t like the idea of robots taking over. I know there are many people doing their best to help other people to help the planet. But although a lot of people are trying, we really need everyone to try! So, here’s a list of a few things you can easily do in your daily life to make a difference. 1 – Avoid purchasing anything that cannot be recycled. Always check your labels for the recycle logo. 2 – Make your own lunch! Drive-thru and fast-food franchises are perhaps the biggest industries contributing to climate-change-related problems on our planet. 3 – Be healthy. Choose snacks that do not use palm-oil, or at least those with a ‘sustainable palm-oil’ stamp of approval. Get involved with animal and environmental orgs as often as you can, even if you can only tell your friends about the good work that they do. 4 – Every time you walk in nature or on the beach, be sure to take a bag with you to collect any rubbish you find. Even if you only collect a small amount, you will have prevented the effects of that amount from affecting the environment. 5 – Plant more trees to help reduce the amount of carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere, thus bringing atmospheric gases back into balance. 6 – Spend more time in nature. You are not a robot; you have not been born to look at a screen all day. Be a Human Being, at one with nature around you as you should be. 7 – Stop using poisonous herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers in your garden or around your home. They are deadly for more than just bugs. 8 – Use less electricity. Switch off appliances when you’re not using them. This can lessen the amount of coal that needs to burn in order to produce electricity. 9 – When you need to give someone a gift, consider supporting your local crafters or choose to make a gift from recycled items. Should someone feel your gift is not good enough, give them this article to read! 10 – Kids, stop asking your parents for fancy devices! A lot of pollution is caused by factories that make game consoles, smartphones, and other devices. The more people demand these devices, the more pollution there is. So, rather find a fun game to play that does not cause pollution! If all humans carry out just one of these tasks every day, humanity can make a difference for sure! If you love nature as much as Rose and I do, you’ll really enjoy her books about nature. You can visit her website to find out more about them. If you find one you like, please drop us a line telling us which is your favorite. You can do so on Facebook or Twitter, or you can write to me via my page, here on Rose’s site. Here’s wishing you an environmentally-friendly weekend ahead! Keep smiling, consider nature always, and stay magical! Sasha ~ The Lone Avocado Tree
