Rose’s top-five bestsellers (and also my favorites)!

Hey, all! Thursday is blog day, and today I’ve decided to share snippets from five of Rose’s books; her bestsellers and also my favorites (coincidentally)! For those of you who are here for the first time, welcome! I’m Sasha the Tooth-fairy, AKA Rose’s Little Helper!

Rose is a dynamic woman. She left her homeland in Kenya, Africa, to pursue her passion in the health-care industry.  Oral-health was where her heart lay, and so she persevered tenaciously. Today she’s the wonderful Doctor Rose we love and know.  But through all of this she never lost her love for story-telling.  What better way to incorporate this love into her daily life now, than to write stories for kids about dentistry and teeth! Aside from her oral-care range of books, she also wrote a few about her memories of her childhood in Kenya.

Well, below are five of these awesome books, and I’m thrilled to share them with you!

No Place For Sugar-bugs.
“My mouth is not a place for sugar bugs.  Out you go!”  I shouted.  “There is no room for you on my teeth.  Not today.  Not tomorrow.  Not ever!  I will brush and brush until you are gone; around and around and around while I sing this song...
Sugar bugs, sugar bugs, go away!
My mouth is not a place to play!
After my breakfast I’ll brush you out,
after lunch and dinner, too, now hear me shout!
Sugar bugs, sugar bugs, go away!
My mouth is not a place to play!
But I know that sugar bugs do not only live on my teeth, they live between them, too.  The small spaces between my big teeth are difficult to reach with only a toothbrush, so I flossed the little sugar bugs out as well!

Gently Did the Tooth-fairy Creep.

“Oh, tooth fairy, that’s one of my questions!  How do you know where I live… and how do you know when I’ve lost a tooth?”

“Ah… little Faye, it’s funny that you should ask that!”  The tooth fairy fluttered over to her and, with her hands, made a hologram of the entire planet appear out of thin air.

“I have the best job in the world; visiting children all over the Earth and making their wishes come true.  It’s my responsibility to know when and where babies are born. I’ve known where you live since... since… goodness - since you first opened your little blue eyes!”

I Have Tusks and you Have Teeth.

The great thing about my tusks and my teeth
is that they don’t need to be cleaned.”
The elephant then smiled as wide as he could
and, indeed, his big white tusks gleamed.

“Hmm,” sighed the boy, “you really are smart,
but my teeth are not quite like yours.
I cannot drink water through my nose
and I walk on two legs, not all-fours.

I cannot pull tree roots out of the ground,
and I can’t pull down branches from high.
But I do have two hands and, although I am small,
I can stretch up to try touch the sky.
The Lone Avocado Tree:
Then, one day, strong winds blew across the plains. The leaves that had fought hard to grow on that old tree rustled. The last avocados the tree would ever bear dangled on threadlike twigs. Naughty squirrels playing in the grass heard a soft sound coming from the lone avocado tree. It was barely a whisper -
Bring back the gigantic animals - bring ‘em back! Bring back the ground sloths and the armadillos - bring ‘em back! Bring back the wooly rhinos and mammoths - bring ‘em back! My seeds need to travel far and wide.
Oh, please - bring ‘em back!
The naughty squirrels tried to help, but the avocado fruits were far too big for them to eat whole, and the seeds were too heavy for them to carry. The leaves on the lone avocado tree rustled as the winds continued to blow.

The Simple Things Around Me:
“Mama, I wonder… how would it feel to be a tiny little chick? I would be all yellow, so soft, and so tiny at first.  But after being fed each day, I would grow up to be the loudest rooster to greet the morning, and wake the sleeping village… Cock–a–doodle–doo! Good-morning-to-all-of-you! How would it feel to be the early morning sun? I would be a warm ray of sunshine on your skin.  But I would also be quite powerful. As time went on in the day, my rays would grow strong. By mid-day I would be so hot, you’d have to take shelter in the cool shade of a tree. How would it feel to be a mustard seed? I would start out as the smallest of all seeds on the planet.  But, when planted, I would grow and grow to become the largest of all garden plants.  My branches would be so big and tall that birds from all over Kenya would perch on them to rest.

To date rose has written seventeen children’s books, all of them available in both eBook and paperback formats. You can see all of them on this website under the My Books tab.

Which of her books do you own? Please let us know in the comments on Facebook or Twitter, and feel free to tell others what you think of it, too!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!
Until next time, keep smiling,
stay magical,
Sasha ~
