Hello, hello! I’m glad you’ve dropped-in to read today’s blog, and I believe you’re going to enjoy it! Last week Rose took her family on a trip to the beautiful Pocono Mountains. If there’s one thing her family loves more than anything it’s nature. She sent me some pictures to share with you and – boy, oh boy - they look like they had super-fun! They packed the car, put the world on pause, and drove 240-kilometers to Bushkill Falls. Abby, Rose’s daughter, drove the entire way which gave Rose the opportunity to really take in the scenery (as opposed to the scenery she sees in her dental office each day, that is)! Bushkill Falls is filled with fun activities for the whole family. Known as the ‘Niagara of Pennsylvania,’ this forest paradise is home to a series of eight waterfalls dotted along the Pocono Mountains. Indeed they run and tumble their way down to the Delaware River. The Wadenya family put their best feet forward and tackled the Bushkill Trail with aplomb, taking-in the fresh air, divine scenery, and the little things around them that make this area as spectacular as it is. At four-thousand-feet on Camelback Mountain, the family then sailed down the mountainside in harnesses as though they were merely travelling on an escalator at the mall! As if hanging from a metal chord above the trees wasn’t enough, they then went on to tackle the tree-top adventure course which saw them walking in the trees this time, on tight-ropes and wobbly contraptions from tree to tree (I would’ve just flown – much easier)! All in all the holiday was rejuvenating for Rose and her family, and it gave them a chance to breathe in the fresh air that nature provides unconditionally. It’s not difficult to understand why Rose has written so many books with nature as the underlying theme. Of course, her book ‘The Simple Things Around Me’ expresses her love for nature, through the eyes of a little girl from Kenya who we fondly know as Imani. Amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, it is extremely important to spend time in nature. Nature is life and we all need to connect with this at every opportunity. Wishing you a great weekend ahead! Keep smiling, stay magical, Sasha ~ The Simple Things Around Me
