Hi, it’s Sasha again. If you’ve not heard about me and the personalized letters I write to children yet, you can find out more on the Subscribe page , here on Rose’s website. Last week Rose and I began a new series of blogs called ‘fun things to do with an old toothbrush’. We’re glad to see some people enjoyed it!
The wand we’re going to make is really quite simple, and we’re going to use your old toothbrush as the handle for the wand. What you’ll need: - An old toothbrush - Some pretty giftwrap or sparkly paper - Cardboard - Scissors - Sticky tape - Glue Extras: - Glitter - Ribbon - Tinsel - Anything you’d like to decorate your wand with How to make your wand: 1 - Using a sheet of thin paper, trace around the star below to get your perfect star shape. 2 - Use this traced star as a template to create a star with your pretty-colored or sparkly paper. 3 - Once again, use your star template to create a cardboard cutout of the same star. 4 - Glue your pretty-paper star cutout onto your cardboard cutout, so that you have a firm star that will not bend or look floppy. 5 – Use sticky tape or glue to fasten your firm, pretty, star to the top of your old toothbrush. 6 – Decorate your wand anyway you like, using any (or more) of the ‘extras’ I’ve mentioned above. Your wand will be as beautiful as you want it to be! I’ve only made a very simple one, so that you can see how it should look. I imagine, with time, yours could look faaar more magical! And it’s such a fun project as well! Once your wand is made, I’d really be happy if you were to send me pictures of it. You can do so by using the subscribe form here on Rose’s website. Once you’ve sent the subscription request, I will get back to you via email, then you can reply and attach your picture of your beautiful wand in that email. What a great thing to do now that it’s Christmas time, too! You can sprinkle magic over everyone who comes to visit over this festive season! Next week we’ll show you how to make another item using an old toothbrush. I hope you’re ready to look for animals in Africa! If you have any other ideas about what to make with an old toothbrush, go ahead and share them with us in the comments! Until next time, stay magical… and keep shining! Sasha.
